Content was built in 1930, at the Fellows & Stewart yard in San Pedro, California. She’d been commissioned by Ezra Fitch of Abercrombie and Fitch fame, as his retirement gift to himself. He planned to explore the rivers of South America but never made it, dying on board some six months after she was launched, in Santa Barbara. In the years that followed she became well known for entertaining Hollywood royalty over on Catalina Island.
Repowered 3 years ago with twin Italian Iveco 150 engines. The new engines are very efficient, with tons of excess power and extremely frugal – 1.6gals per hour @ 1000 RPM, giving 6kts. And that’s for BOTH engines! Full speed is 14kts @2800 RPM, and she sounds like a Ferrari.
Located in the heart of the world’s best cruising grounds. La Paz, Mexico, the gateway to the Sea of Cortez. Dozens of gorgeous anchorages with white sand beaches, crystal clear warm turquoise water, many within a days sail to downtown La Paz.
